Mayer Cars and Trucks Co. Ltd., Mayer Service Centers, Limited Partnership, and Mayer Leasing Ltd. (hereinafter together and separately: “the Company“ or any first-person reference) is an importer of various vehicles, including Volvo, Honda, Lynk & Co, Polestar, Renault Trucks, Zhongtong buses, is a leasing company. It owns a network of service centers for servicing these vehicles and in addition it is an importer of TREX (hereinafter: “the Services“).

The Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect about you, how we collect it, the uses we make of it, the measures we take to safeguard it securely and the security precautions you are required to take. The Privacy Policy details the possibilities available to you regarding your personal information while you are interacting with us.

This Policy refers to personal information regarding you, which we process with regard to the services, their delivery, their operation and your interest in them. The Privacy Policy applies to information which has been identified or which is identifiable through reasonable means. As a rule, you are not legally obliged to provide the information detailed below, however failure to provide it might prevent the Company form providing you certain services.

The information shall be stored in the Company’s databases for as long as it needs to realize the goals it is permitted to achieve by law and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  1.  Legal Issues

We operate as detailed in the Privacy Policy in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741 – 1981 (“the Law“), the regulations and guidelines pursuant thereof.

We are permitted to amend this Policy from time to time. Should we do so, the amended Privacy Policy shall apply from the time we release it on our Internet website.

We shall collect information about you from a variety of sources. The examples we will be providing here are for clarification only and do not form a complete listing of the ways in which we operate.

What do we collect?

We collect the information we need for the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy. We shall be collecting the name, address, phone number, ID number, photo of driver’s license, email address, date of birth, and details of the means of payment. Depending on the service requested, we will from time to time seek additional information about you, which will be required for delivering the service. Thus for example, when registering on one of the Company brands’ website for a test drive, we will also be collecting information about the relevant geographic region in order to coordinate the test drive; when purchasing one of the products and services the Company offers, we will be collecting additional information as detailed in the purchase agreement. Furthermore, while you are browsing our websites we will be collecting information about the browser and the device from which you have been browsing, and we will also collect information on the said device’s operating system (hereinafter: “Personal Information“).

There may be cases where more highly-sensitive information will be collected, for example in a case where you ask us to take a disability into consideration.

Additionally, in order to protect your information, we might require you to provide us information which enables us to identify you – for example ID number and information regarding the means of payment you will be providing to us.

Sources

We collect personal information in your inquiry to us regarding obtaining the services or which are related to them. These will be collected at the time of placing the order and in the course of their delivery, including the information you provide:

  • On our websites ;
  • At the Company’s offices and sales sites;
  • When contacting the sales or call centers via the various platforms (such as through SMS’s, via social media and via instant messaging services – WhatsApp).

We collect personal information about you from a variety of other sources, including affiliate companies or bodies with which we cooperate

  • “Cookies“ and similar technologies

“Cookies” are a set of data which is sent to your computer from our Internet server in order to enable the server to identify your computer.

Cookies help us improve the quality of your experience when visiting our websites through expediting the ordering process and reducing malfunctions. The information that will be collected about you helps us, among other things, to develop content and characteristics which we believe will be helpful to you, or which you might like .

  • If you restrict our use of persistent cookies you will still be able to enjoy the full functionality of our Internet websites and emails but you will have to re-enter certain data each time at the beginning of a new visit to our Internet website. Even though persistent cookies will not be deleted automatically and their availability will not be affected when you shut down the browser, they will “expire”, typically after several years.

  • Pixel tags

In addition, we are allowed to use pixel tags or similar technologies, which enable us to track your activities as a user of our Internet websites or as a recipient of our email messages. Pixel tags are used for collecting anonymous data in order to help us identify popular orders, clicks and other information useful for improving our service. We also use them to identify which online advertisements or email advertisements have brought you to our website.

  1.  Use of information and its disclosure to other parties

The information we collect will serve us for the following purposes:

  • To provide the services (including the execution of the vehicle or motorcycle sale transaction, services such as servicing, repairs and additional services and leasing services).
  • To improve the services.
  • To provide you with customer service.
  • To keep in touch with you and with others.
  • To charge and collect the amounts payable to us due to the engagement with you.
  • For direct-mailing.
  • For research purposes, for satisfaction surveys and for market research.
  • To exercise our legitimate interests, for example fraud prevention.
  • For marketing purposes.

 

The information will be used by the Company (or by its representative) for sending marketing material, advertising, service offers, participation in special sales, for providing benefits, to convey various messages, for surveys etc., related to the services (and subject to your consent, in case this is legally required, also regarding other products or services), all over a variety of means of communication, including email, SMS, and autodial systems. You will be able to notify us at any time that you are not interested in receiving marketing content via these means or you will be able to request deletion of the information which led to the direct mailing and which we do not require for legitimate purposes, through contacting Customer Service at the following email address: Moked@MCT.CO.IL. You can request not to receive such marketing messages also via the means which appears in the direct mail itself. Please note, after requesting removal as per the above, you might be receiving direct mails which we are legally required to and/or permitted to send you, including without your consent.

Information disclosure

We work with providers (including cloud computing service providers) and operating companies in order to deliver the service you need. In order for you to receive optimal service, we have to disclose your personal information to these entities, including transfer of the information abroad when necessary, and this includes information disclosure to countries which provide a level of privacy protection which is less than what is required in accordance with Israeli law.

Furthermore, we are permitted to share your personal information in the following cases:

  • If you have agreed to this where the law requires it.
  • To cooperate with the law enforcement authorities, to identify persons that might be involved in illegal activities.
  • In response to government and administration bodies regarding charges incurred in the course of the lease, such as traffic or parking fines and fees.
  • In order to comply with the applicable law.
  • If we have received a legal order instructing us to do so or a requirement from a competent authority, or if there is a legal requirement to do so.
  • To enable us to present a defense against lawsuits.
  • In order to exercise our rights under an agreement, and also under circumstances where the law permits or requires it.
  • Regarding sale, merging or assignment of our services (in whole or in parts thereof), in order to enable the receiving entity to decide whether to proceed with the transaction. The recipient entity will be required to obey the relevant instructions of this policy regarding the information concerning you.

 

  1. Retention

We work to retain personal information concerning you in a secured manner such that it will store it precisely, that it shall be up-to-date and complete, insofar as this is required for the purposes for which we use it.

We will usually store personal information about our customers for as long as we believe it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as long as this is required by the applicable law.

Our main databases in which we store the personal information we collect are located on the Company’s servers in Israel. However, we will be transferring information abroad to our business partners and to various service providers in the destination countries and other countries, in which our suppliers process the information concerning you in order to provide services to you. Such information transfer will be done in accordance with the above.

We take suitable information security measures, including physical security measures, appropriate procedural and electronic measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Restriction of access by our employees to personal information.
  • Enforcement of a policy and processes toward our employees in the course of their work with personal information.
  • Use of technologies designed to protect information during its uploading, including SSL1 encryption of information you provide on our Internet websites.

The Company implements information security systems and procedures on its website. Whereas these systems and procedures reduce the risk of unauthorized penetration, they do not provide absolute security. The Company therefore does not promise that the services on its websites will be absolutely impervious to unauthorized access to the information stored therein.

For this reason, you, too, are responsible for taking appropriate security measures (such as antivirus protection, anti-hacking measures, measures against data loss, leaking of secrets etc.).

“SSL” means Secure Sockets Layer Encryption. We use this protection for the information you provide us via our Internet websites. SSL encryption is intended to ensure that the information has indeed been sent by you to the Company and that nobody else is able to read or corrupt it while it is being transferred. When you are requested to provide us your personal information on our Internet websites, you will be able to see that the HTTP address of our website changes to HTTPS. The addition of the S suffix indicates that the website is secured for data transfer.The symbol of a closed padlock on-screen is also an indication that the website is secured.
